Botox is a form of dermal filler that aims to firm and plump the skin reducing wrinkles  and the other signs of aging. Botox works by preventing signals transmitting through facial tissues. It is these signals that cause tiny muscle movements that over time lead to the appearance of wrinkles. By temporarily blocking these signals, the wrinkle appears to disappear and the skin looks younger, smoother and firmer. There is no surgical procedure involved with Botox. It is injected using an ordinary syringe, into an area of skin that has been numbed with an anaesthetic gel. This means there is very little pain and discomfort other than a slight feeling of numbness

There is also very little risk involved if carried out by a trained dentist as Botox has been judged to be perfectly safe for use in the human body and breaks down naturally over the course of about four months.
